Sean had to overcome condemning odds as a young adolescent.  Being sentenced to an expected future of failure, Sean had to fight past a background of family violence, abandonment and aimless direction. 

At 15, he called his children’s aid worker and mom to tell them he was not going home in order to start a new life on his own.  After going back and forth between foster homes and a difficult family environment, Sean ventured out with some limited support.  Yet, while working in various jobs, finishing high school and trying to stay connected to a dysfunctional family, Sean had an encounter with God that transformed his perspective (and eventually the pattern of his life).  Providentially, Sean was introduced to a stable family that invited him to come into their home as either a boarder or a “son”.  Through warmth and direction, Sean received the coaching, mentoring and support to build a new blueprint for his life.  This led him to pursue post secondary education and training in pastoral ministry & theology, counseling, career development and eventually leadership. 

He has committed to a life of helping, coaching and leading others - which has been evident in his work as a social worker, pastor, counsellor, team leader, college dean, administrator and program director.  He has worked with municipal, provincial and federal government, charities, nonprofit organizations, school boards, and businesses.  And now, as a loving husband and father of two daughters, Sean has learned the joys of attachment with his immediate and extended family. 

As the former leader of a youth residential treatment program, Sean`s pioneering spirit has given him numerous opportunities to use the trials of his past and his hope for the future in developing many new initiatives, projects and services.

He is also available for speaking engagements and is keen about taking community leadership to bring hope to community, family and personal challenges.
